The Block 2022 Bathroom Reveal: Omar and Oz's Master Ensuite Week 3 | Season 18

Judges blown away by "ingenuous" bathroom.

Omar and Oz were "very confident" they could win Master Ensuite Week after placing first in Main Bathroom Week.

They got off to a flying start but things came crashing down when their tiler left them with a botched job.

Foreman Keith labelled it a "disaster" and builders told Omar and Oz they probably wouldn't finish their bathroom, but Oz said that just put a fire in their bellies to push even harder.

"This week has gone from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows," Omar said.

"To actually finish this bathroom and it be better than the one we presented first week, we honestly think that we should win today."

Scroll to see what judges Shaynna Blaze, Neale Whitaker and Darren Palmer had to say about Omar and Oz's Master Ensuite.

Omar and Oz had the smallest space to work with for their master ensuite and the judges immediately noticed their bathroom had "very different proportions".

But as Neale said "it's not about size, it's what you do with it."

And Omar and Oz did a lot with their space.

Neale's first impression was that "Omar and Oz are on their way to becoming bathroom kings".

Neale said that the room was "unexpected" just like their first bathroom.

"It's the unexpected delivered to a very high standard of excellence," he added.

The judges not only loved the round bathtub but raved about its clever placement that gave you uninterrupted views from any angle.

Two beautiful French doors framed picturesque views of the countryside.

Darren said that while there was "nothing revolutionary" about the materials Omar and Oz used, the layout was revolutionary and that was all the statement the room needed.

"There were a million ways you could've screwed this room up," Darren said.

But the boys nailed it despite all the constraints.

There was nothing about Omar and Oz's bathroom that the judges didn't like.

They were even excited about the toilet paper and made special congratulations to whoever folded it into a peacock's head.

"Are you kidding me?" Shaynna shrieked.

To say that the judges were mind blown by the boys' walk through shower would be an understatement.

"It's very cool and such a clever use of space. This is ingenious," Neale said.

The judges marvelled at the curve-edged seat.

Shaynna said the shower made her feel like she was at a high-end country club.

From the brass fixtures to the scale and size, Omar and Oz didn't miss a beat with their Japanese-inspired shower.

The judges were very impressed by Omar and Oz's styling.

They kept it understated and let the big statements like the bathtub and shower "smack the judges right between the eyes".

"The way they've allocated a quarter of this room to the shower and a third to the bathtub just shows you there's scale and opportunity for grandeur," Darren commended the boys.

"There are probably only a few [ways] you can make this room really amazing," Darren said.

"And we are in the amazing layout for this room, for this house."

Shaynna – who is a big fan of heritage features – noted that there were only a few traditional elements in the boys' bathroom but said it was "just enough".

The only fault she could point out was that there was no face-level lighting around the basin.

"When it's nighttime, it's going to be very hard to see properly here," Shaynna said.

Neale also noted that the boys needed to put a towel hook on the entrance door.

"I can't believe we forgot the wood peg on the back of the door. Unbelievable," Omar kicked himself.

Omar and Oz pride themselves on their attention to detail.

And while the judges said their execution was good, it wasn't perfect.

So there is still a bit of room for improvement.

Overall, the judges were in awe of the space.

"It feels country. It feels traditional. It feels modern. It feels luxurious," Shaynna praised Omar and Oz's master ensuite.

"It ticks every single box."

While last week the judges worried about the direction Omar and Oz's style was going in, Darren said if they translate this bathroom aesthetic across their house, then they could have a winning house.
