Information in the Sheriff’s Blotter is gathered from the dispatch logs provided by the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office. No individual’s names are reported. And those arrested should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The following is a summary of activity for Aug 29-30, 2022

8:38 a.m. Graeagle. A caller reports finding a passport from Austria. The caller will take it to Graeagle Market for safekeeping. The owner was born in 1985 and it was found on the Iroquois Trail, in the roadway.

Wrapped a little too tight

9:25 a.m. Taylorsville. A caller reports that her electric fence has been broken and requests deputy contact. She said there is $10,000 in damage.  No crime. The fence broke due to being pulled too tight.

10:07 a.m. Quincy. A caller reports a theft on Main St. in front of Tracy’s Thrift Store. (Quincy Thrift & Com.) The Flower basket was there Friday and is now missing. The hanging flower basket is about $150 value. 10:49 a.m. Another caller reported the same flower basket missing, it is the property of the Plumas County (Quincy) Chamber of Commerce.

10:15 a.m. Lake Almanor Peninsula. A caller reports a loose dock is banging against her dock, unsure of who it belongs to. She described where her house was in relation to the peninsula. 10:48 a.m. Assistance complete.

Big sky country provides needed space

10:35 a.m. Chester. A caller reported a missing person, born in 1965, he left on Friday to visit his father’s grave in South Dakota. She talked to him while he was in Elko, NV. Saturday, she talked to him and he had made it to Gillette, WY. The final destination is Roslyn, South Dakota at Fron Lutheran Church. The subject’s credit card was used to check into hotels along the way. His card has not been used since Saturday evening. He is driving a 2017 Ford. She tried to contact her husband since last night, but it keeps going straight to voicemail. 1:17 p.m. A deputy advised that the caller has been able to contact the missing person. He just needed a little space but is fine.

Wanting his day in court

1:28 p.m. Courthouse security advises there is an unknown male saying he needs a deputy, it is unknown why, in the main parking lot. The subject has a shirt with a tiger on the front, in his 60’s, with long hair and a beard. 3:54 p.m. The Sgt. advised contact with a known subject who is upset that no one is helping him.

1:34 p.m. Chester. A caller reports a known subject lives across the street, no weapons. The neighbor is harassing him. He drove too close and yelled at him while riding his bike. 2:30 p.m. Per CHP officers on the scene, this is a vandalism case, and they request a deputy response. A deputy contacted both parties and CHP is to handle the vehicle complaint. The Sgt. advised the deputy there is no crime. The caller was just angry with the deputy’s response. CHP will handle the reported stolen license plate.

9:36 p.m. Quincy. A caller reports an ongoing issue with a dog barking throughout the night. The caller was angry and made statements that he has a weapon and if he is outside and a dog or a bear attacks him, he is going to shoot it and the caller disconnected the line. 10:55 p.m. The caller information was faxed to Animal Control. 11:06 p.m. The caller recontacted via 911 to advise the dog is still barking. The caller made a statement about throwing a “Sandwich” over the fence because killing the dog will be the only way to shut it up. Aug. 30. A deputy checked the are and was unable to locate any dogs barking. Animal Control will follow up.

GPS steers another one astray- this is not the clothing optional campground

10:01 p.m. Spring Garden. A caller reports an unknown male is walking around her property wearing no clothing or shoes; he only has a towel wrapped around his waist. He was last seen in front of the caller’s house. The caller has a video of the subject from the neighbor’s ring camera. 10:07 p.m. It was requested that CHP assist. 11:13 p.m. A deputy contacted the caller who advised she saw the subject a few hours prior to calling. A deputy was on the lookout in the area; and reports suspicious circumstances only. Aug. 30, 12:12 p.m. A deputy viewed a video, possibly of a known suspect. Extra patrols were requested and checks of the area.

11:32 p.m. Quincy. A call from Nevada County Behavioral Health answering service for Plumas County Behavioral Health after hours reports receiving back to back calls on their crisis line, over 10 calls, tying up the line for actual emergencies. The caller said she had an active suicide call that she was unable to transfer due to the subject calling the line back-to-back. The subject was rambling on about several Sheriff Office employees, satellites, and medical fraud, but would not let the caller speak. The subject provided his name as 1D2’s name, stated his location is “The dog house in the Sheriff’s Office parking lot” and is calling from a known number. Aug. 30 12:28 a.m. The info was forwarded via email.

Stressful start to the day

10:58 a.m. Quincy. A caller reports he is having a hard time breathing due to the Nevada Government attacking him. He is meeting with Susanville Housing so that he can move. No medical is needed. 11:01 a.m. The caller is still refusing an ambulance; he will try and lay down for a little while.

12:23 p.m. Greenville. A caller reports that a drone was seen flying over the work yard on Aug. 18. It stopped and hovered over the yard for a while. On-site security is requesting patrol checks of the area. The caller said that there is security at the site 24 hours a day. 1:23 p.m. A deputy advised contacting the caller and an email has been sent to all patrol units.

1:13 p.m. Portola. A deputy reports a rock from a logging truck struck the windshield.

2:54 p.m. Quincy. A call came in, an open line, can hear something dragging or someone shoveling. 2:57 p.m. Attempted to contact the caller and spoke to a known person. He is working on a job site with his boss and a co-worker, and the call was an accidental pocket dial.

6:58 p.m. Chester. A caller reports a male subject just crashed his vehicle into some trees then took off running from a black 2010 Lincoln. The suspect identity is possibly known. The call was transferred to CHP. 8:48 p.m. The suspected male was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and resisting arrest.

7:24 p.m. Chester. A caller reports she was being followed by a male subject driving a black Lincoln. The caller requests the information be on file. The information was sent to a deputy to be on the lookout for the subject.
