A BUCKIE man who carried out a series of break-ins and thefts is facing a jail sentence.

KC Devlin, described as a Grampian prisoner, appeared by video link at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted a total of five charges.

His solicitor Clare Russell conceded that her client was facing another period of imprisonment and confirmed that the guilty pleas were agreed with fiscal depute David Morton at a late stage.

Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald agreed to defer sentence until September 5 for a written narrative of the facts and a background report.

But the charges which 31-year-old Devlin admitted contained some detail of his crimes.

On November 11, 2021 he broke into the Buckpool Pharmacy on St Andrew's Square, Buckie, and stole prescription medicine.

Later that same day in Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin, he tried to conceal a blister pack of tablets by hiding it in a toilet roll holder.

On February 6, 2022, Devlin broke into the North East Trader Shop in High Street, Buckie and stole a quantity of electrical items, a bank card and money.

Then on March 13, 2022, at the Marine Hotel in Buckie, he stole bank books, keys, a card reader, alcohol and money.

Ms Russell told the court: "He is well aware a custodial sentence will be imposed. He is currently serving a sentence."
