RAPID CITY, S.D. — The suspect in a fatal shooting at a Rapid City Hotel on March 19 pleaded not guilty in court at his arraignment hearing on Monday.

19-year-old Quincy Bear Robe was originally charged with aggravated assault and commission of a felony with a firearm.

The charge was changed to second degree murder after the victim, 19-year-old Myron Blaine Pourier of Porcupine, died due his injuries sustained from the incident.

On March 19, the Rapid City Police Department received a call of a disturbance at the Grand Gateway Hotel just before 4:30 a.m.

When officers arrived, they were informed that a gun was fired in one of the rooms of the hotel. When they entered the room, officers found a single gunshot victim who was later identified as Pourier. Bear Robe was taken into custody shortly after.

Bear Robe’s next hearing is set for July 25 at 3:15 p.m.
